You may see some articles or recipes not fully available yet. One reason you see this is I am transcribing several years worth of notebooks from prior wine pairing parties. The other reason is I am currently working on the next event. I will in tandem post about live experiments and how it’s coming together.
So, you may be wondering “why do you do this?”
These wine pairing parties are a big undertaking – especially because I do most of the work solo (up until the day of the event). Plus, I do it at no charge. Here are 3 main reasons:
1. I love to cook creatively. There is so much inspiration in exploring and designing something new and beautiful with food. But like much art, it doesn’t truly come to full fruition unless it is shared.
2. I excel at problem-solving. This event is like a giant puzzle that I piece together bit by bit. From budget through how the heck to pull this off for 25-30 people at once.
3. I like challenges that push me. Some people run a marathon, my knees prefer cooking challenges. For either endeavor, the right shoes is a must.
